Wellfleet Transformation

The program for this project was very simple. Take a one-story two bedroom cape and:
a) Add a second floor with a large family room and a new bathroom.
b) Expand the first floor to create a larger living room.
c) Reconfigure and expand the exterior deck.
The process of design was collaborative with the homeowner and builder. The interior is defined by light and spaces flowing together. Old and new are integrated by the use of complementary color, texture and layers. Energy efficiency and conservation was a priority with a high performance building envelope and solar panels.
